As part of our response to reconciliation, Brock House strives to provide opportunities for members to become informed about Indigenous culture, worldview, politics, and governance. This is achieved through lectures by Indigenous speakers, reading and discussing fiction, story telling and nonfiction) from Indigenous and non-Indigenous sources.

Betsy Lomax was born in Hazelton, BC. Through questions posed by her daughter, Della Gough, Betsy will speak about her upbringing and journey in life which includes backpacking alone around the world over 30 years ago. Betsy does what she can to keep the Gitxsan language alive by teaching youngsters and providing translations for the Dancers of Damelahamid of North Vancouver. Della Gough is a realtor based in Kerrisdale where she promotes small local businesses by interviewing the owners, interviews which can be viewed on YouTube.
