Esther Birney Lecture: Dr. John LeBlanc – Film: Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women"

Jo March reflects on her life, telling the beloved story of the March sisters - four young women, each determined to live life on her own terms. We will be showing the 1994 version. Directed by Gillian Armstrong and starring Winona Ryder, it is the first modern film version. It is followed by the 2017, 2018 and 2019 versions which viewers may have seen recently. 


John LeBlanc 
is professor emeritus, UBC. He will discuss the film before and after the showing.
