In this small, supportive group you will share your life stories, focusing on themes carefully designed to invoke reflection, insight, and creativity. Each week, you will write and share two-page autobiographical stories based on major life themes. Together, we will read our week’s writings and give each other encouraging feedback. We also do some writing exercises, and look at some of the core elements of the craft of writing. As we listen and share, we’ll laugh (and sometimes cry), connecting with one another as we find new meaning and perspective in our lives.
This is Series 2 of the Guided Memoir program, a natural for those who have done Guided Memoir 1, but open to others who have done some memoir writing if there is room.
Arlene is a certified instructor of the Birren Center for Autobiographical Studies. For more information, feel free to email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
