6 new lectures in the Legendary Performers series hosted by Neil Ritchie. The lectures celebrate acclaimed 7 individuals who have made lasting contributions in the fields of jazz, movie musicals, parades, , pop, classical piano and Broadway. (Instructing in house) (See full description below.)

Jan 21. Carmen McRae. A distinctive jazz vocalist who relishes the drama of every lyric she sings.
Jan 28. Michael Kidd. A classical dancer who choreographed 2 classic musicals "7 Brides for 7 Brothers" and "The Band Wagon", starred in a comedy movie and directed a tv special for Michael Baryshnikov.
Feb 4 New Orleans Street Music. Band music is prominent in New Orleans life to this day and is featured in the moving documentary "The Whole Gritty City.
Feb 11 Oscar Peterson/George Shearing. Two distinctive jazz pianists whose playing became accessible to an audience outside the jazz world.
Feb 18 Glenn Gould. The Canadian classical pianist was celebrated for his virtuosity and unique approach to a traditional type of music presentation.
Feb 25. Harold Arlen. Famous for writing the score for the movie classic "The Wizard of Oz", his songs were favourites of singers like Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Lena Horne.
