Dr. Richard Stace-Smith Lecture - On Zoom
A bit of history: The annual series is dedicated to the late Dr. Richard Stace-Smith (1924 – 1917) who served as president of Brock House Society, 1995 – 1997. A UBC alumnus—he worked as a research plant pathologist specializing in viruses with Agriculture Canada for 39 years. In 1999, he was honoured with the Order of British Columbia for his leadership to protect biodiversity and to conserve the environment for future generations. The series began in May 2015, featuring speakers in his field. Over the years, the themes varied but the series continue to highlight important and relevant topics for our society.
