Join Nicolas Krusek for this 6-week course about about great choral works from Bach’s Passions and Mass in B minor and Handel’s oratorios to Mozart’s Requiem and Haydn’s The Creation and The Seasons. (See weekly descriptions below.)

Available Slots:

We begin by exploring great choral works of the High Baroque style, such as Bach’s St. John Passion, St. Matthew Passion, and Mass in B minor, as well as excerpts from Handel’s many oratorios. We then take a journey through such masterpieces of the Viennese Classical style as Mozart’s Requiem and Haydn’s oratorios, The Creation and The Seasons.

Bach’s Magnificat in D, St. John Passion, and St. Matthew Passion


Week 2

J. S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and Mass in B minor


Week 3

Handel’s coronation anthems for George II and English oratorios


Week 4

Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor and Requiem in D minor


Week 5

Haydn’s oratorios, The Creation and The Season


Week 6

Haydn’s glorious late Masses for the Esterhazy family
