Anyone interested in starting a Book Club with me? We could meet over Zoom.

I also really loved Where the Crawdads sing.Another one I loved was The nightingale.

One last one The Piano Teacher.Happy reading.

I might be interested in joining a Book Club too although Brock House already has one so I'm wondering Val if you should contact the current Book Club and let them know about this initiative.

Sheila

I would be interested in joining a book club.
Like Truus, despite having all this time I have not been reading enough although have many books stacked waiting to be read!
Currently I am reading Wade Davis: into the silence - almost 600 pages so its taking me a while
Good info Truus. Thanks! Always looking for good reads.
Sorry, I meant Ann Marie MacDonald
I just finished "The Radiant Way" by Margaret Drabble. I quite liked it. I could identify with the women. Like I said, I happened to have it at home. I also like Margaret MacDonald. It doesn't look like we have enough interest for a book club, at least right now, but we can exchange notes on what we have read. One of the best books I have read is "Room" which I started by mistake. I knew the premise of the story and decided never to read it, but I had forgotten the title and once I started I couldn't put it down.

Interesting idea. I do tend to read quite slowly as time allows. Just like Truus, I spend time reading news and stories about running, keeping my cat alive, and Vancouver liveability.

May I recommend: My Dark Vanessa

Also I am enjoying: The Henna Artist

I've got a short pile of books that I will read when I finished the one I am reading.

My favourite books tend to be a little bit sad. The Man Who Fell To Earth by Walter Tevis, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, and Fifteen Dogs by Andre Alexis. Was a fan of Dostoevsky but I have finished all his stuff. Notes From the Underground made a lot of sense to me.

What kind of books to you like?

I would be. I find that I have not been reading nearly as much as I expected during these Covid days. I waste too much time reading news online. I recently started reading some of the many novels I have at home which I have never read.
Hi Val

I already belong to a book club and really enjoy the variety of books we read. I highly recommend "The Rent Collector" By Camron Wright. Of the 11 people in our book club - everyone gave it 10 out of ten. It takes place in Cambodia and it is a fabulous read.

Another one I really enjoyed is "Where the Crawdad's Sing" by Delia Owens. Another very easy read! And a real twist at the end.

Happy reading.
