The Brock House Big Band is an 18 piece jazz band that was formed over 30 years ago to provide an outlet for retirees looking to play music during the daytime. Members range from ex-professional or semi-professional musicians and music teachers to those whose daily jobs did not involve music at all.
The Band regularly plays afternoon dances at the Kerrisdale Seniors Centre and in locations throughout the greater Vancouver area. The Band also schedules outdoor performances during the summer and has played at venues such as: Kitsilano Showboat, Douglas Park and Leg-in-Boot Square.

Andrew started playing bass guitar in a rock-and-roll band as a student in Adelaide, Australia, and very occasionally could be seen late at night brandishing a trombone. Many years, two continents and two children later, he has retired from his serious day job and now entertains himself playing music and more recently, directing the Brock House Big Band.
