This welcoming mixed-level flamenco demonstration introduces participants to rhythm, coordination, and self-expression through gentle, low-impact movement using the hands, arms, torso, hips, and simple footwork. Guided movement exploration will draw on themes of strength, loss, hope, and joy while offering a taste of flamenco as an expressive and accessible art form.
Participants will be introduced to foundational flamenco techniques, including hand and arm coordination, posture, body awareness, simple footwork, and rhythmic clapping. No previous dance experience is required.
This demonstration session is intended as an introduction to flamenco and may lead to a future course series if there is sufficient member interest.
No special shoes or clothing are required. Please dress comfortably for movement.
