Around Town is a series of occasional outings to Vancouver’s cultural and historic places. Every month or so we’ll visit a different site: perhaps a museum, gallery, special collection, or heritage place. It’s a friendly way to discover some of the city’s most interesting spaces.
Roedde House Museum - 1415 Barclay Street, Vancouver, BC
Join Patricia McCuaig on Thursday, July 9 to the 1893 home of Vancouver’s first book binder. The Roedde House Preservation Society has taken painstaking care to restore and furnish Roedde House to reflect the ambience of late-Victorian family life. The tour will walk into the eleven rooms and allow you to get close to the artifacts.
Please meet Patricia at 9:45 at the museum’s front entrance.
Registration required by Thursday, June 25. Members may pay their entrance fee at the door: $10 for access to both floors or $5 for access to the main floor only.
Transportation: Limited street parking is available on Robson Street and in the West End. Parking spots are scarce in the neighbourhood, so give yourself some extra time or use public transportation. Consider taking the #5 Robson bus, getting off at Denman St & Barclay St, and walking from there to the museum.
