Understand the Bhagavad Gita — A Sacred Text in Ancient India
About this event
As part of the
Tea & Inquiry discussion series, we welcome a special guest speaker. All members who aren’t currently enrolled in the series are welcome to attend.
Most non-Indians can't really understand the Bhagavad Gita. It is a sacred, central text in ancient India that presents itself as a dialogue between Prince Arjuna and the god Krishna. Like the Bible in western society and the I Ching in China, the Bhagavad-Gita offers a key to comprehend the motives, logic and value systems behind the surface that dominates Hinduism's perceptions. Dr. Elango will walk you through this maze and bring us to the core of this intriguing civilization.
