Keeping a nature journal opens our eyes to unseen beauty. It is an incredible way to unwind, learn about local wildlife and plants and explore our creative side. As we make careful observations and record them on the page, we begin seeing, sensing, hearing, and smelling more of the natural world. Nature journaling is an open-ended exploration that integrates art and science to document and better understand the world unfolding around us. In our own way, for our own wellbeing. Basic principles, benefits, materials, and techniques will be discussed including simple steps and activities to begin and maintain a nature journaling practice. This four-session workshop will promote a deeper, more personal connection with nature in our local green spaces by exploring the natural history and biodiversity of Jericho Beach Park. Come out and open a world of wonder and curiosity! No previous art experience needed.
