Earthquake Preparedness

After the Friday Feb 21 Earthquake, the house was evacuated and closed at 2:15pm, in prevention of aftershocks. The safety of our members and community is first. Consult the BC Earthquake Preparedness Guide for more information. Stay tuned for future updates related to safety protocol at Brock House. Programs Update

New course: Create a dementia-friendly future

Whether you or a loved one faces a struggle with dementia, this course will help you understand the disease and the medical and legal challenges it presents. Take steps to maintain your wellbeing and quality of life, and to optimize your future confidence and peace of mind. Topics include: emotional, social, legal, health care, and end-of-life planning. Open to non-members, so be sure to encourage your friends and neighbours to sign up too.  

Thursday, Feb 27. 1:30 to 3:00 pm. Halpern Room. $100 members, $120 non-members. Four sessions. Registration required.  

Monday Travel Talk, Feb 24

Greenland: The final frontier

The Travel Series is pleased to take you on a 12-day trek to eastern Greenland. Join to explore the world in comfort, going via zoom with Brad Howie to where few humans have gone before. Members are welcome to join the zoom meetings at 10am to get to meet the group. The travel presentation starts at 10:30.

New Artists Group starts Feb 27

Soon there will be two Artists Groups at Brock House: the venerable Friday Group and, starting on February 27, the brand new Thursday Artists Group. Draw or paint with others in the Brock House Art Room. Bring your own drawing tools and acrylics, watercolors, or gouache (no oil paints or large canvases). All levels are welcome from beginners to experienced. Note that this is a space to share creative power, but there will be no instruction. Michael Clayton

A legal thriller that was nominated for seven Academy Awards. George Clooney stars as Michael Clayton, a fixer for a prestigious New York City law firm who is torn between doing the right thing and paying off his debts. (2007, 2 hours)

Feb 27 Tour Cancelled

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year tour, originally scheduled for Thursday Feb 27,  has been cancelled.

Boeing Factory Day Tour 

Take an exciting tour of the Boeing Factory, where airplanes are designed, tested, and manufactured for airlines around the world. In this facility (the largest building in the world by volume), you’ll learn about the aviation industry and see aircraft in various stages of production.

After the tour, we’ll enjoy a scenic lunch at Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing.

Thursday March 13, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. $169 per person. USA Travel documents & registration required. Registration closes on February 27.
