Charitable donations

Tax receipts for donations made in 2024 and during January are now available. Please visit the office (third floor) to pick up yours, or emailcommunications@bhsociety.cato have it mailed to your address.

The Government of British Columbia hasextended the periodfor 2024 charitable donations. You may benefit from the 2024 tax deduction until February 28. Your generosity makes a meaningful impact on our community.

Call for donations: food processor

If you have a food processor with cutting or shredding blades, we would love to give it a new home in the Brock House kitchen. Our chef and volunteers would be most grateful. Thank you for considering this opportunity to support our community.

Assist our chef in preparing delicious sandwiches and baked goods either once or twice a week. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with members, show off your recipes and culinary skills, and make people happy.

Osteoarthritis of the Spine

Join physiotherapist Anna Spillane for an informative session on how osteoarthritis affects the spine, and explore practical strategies for managing the condition. Learn joint-protection techniques and spinal mobility exercises to improve your comfort and mobility.

Planning a future with dementia…

A future that honours your wishes and values

Whether you or a loved one faces a struggle with dementia, this course will help you understand the disease and the medical and legal challenges it presents. Take steps to maintain your wellbeing and quality of life, and to optimize your future confidence and peace of mind. This course is open to non-members, so encourage your friends & neighbours to sign up too.

Topics covered:

  • Understanding dementia and its impact

  • Emotional and social planning

  • Legal steps, including enduring power of attorney

  • Navigating healthcare and end-of-life care

Northwest Flower & Garden Festival– Last day to register is Feb 11!

Get a jump on spring by taking a Brock House day-trip to Seattle to this celebrated garden festival. Explore a floral wonderland of over six acres of garden displays, floral exhibits, and seminars. Come solo or bring a friend and get on the bus!
