Lunar New Year comes to Brock House
What happens on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year? Well for one thing, Ivy Clark will give a presentation at Brock House that will explore the cultural, historical, spiritual, and artistic traditions of the Chinese-Peranakan communities. And she will also unveil a rare and beautiful work of art. Ivy is on the Dean’s Council of Diversity and Multiculturalism at Christ Church Cathedral.

Charitable Donations
Now that the Government of British Columbia hasextended the periodfor 2024 charitable donations, you have until the end of February to contribute and benefit from the 2024 tax deduction. Your support of our great programs and services to our community is invaluable. Thank you for your generosity!

On the Vancouver City Council Agenda for Feb 5:
Older Persons Strategic Framework and 2025 Early Actions
On February 5, Anthony Kupferschmidt, Strategic Lead, Aging and Older Persons at the City of Vancouver, will present the Older Persons Strategic Framework and 2025 Early Actions to City Council. This is a key opportunity for Vancouver’s seniors community to show support for the proposed actions. View the report and meeting details here.
Hot meals are back at the Bistro!
In February, both hot meals will be available in the Bistro on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11am and 1 pm. Join us and enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared hot meal. Frozen meals will be available too.

This four-part course will help you understand dementia, the legal and medical steps you can take now to help you feel prepared, and strategies to maintain your well-being and quality of life. Instructor: Christa Ovenell

OASIS: Arthritis Education 2.0
Osteoarthritis of the Spine
Learn how osteoarthritis affects the joints of the spine and discover effective strategies for managing the condition, including joint-protection techniques and spinal mobility exercises. This session, led by Anna Spillane, physiotherapist, is for those living with osteoarthritis or those seeking valuable tips for better spine health.
