Attention Please
Brock House closed for fall holidays
When the House is closed, all in-house activities are cancelled, but please note that the Monday Sept 30 Travel Series presentation, Western & Northern Australia, will run on Zoom.
Bistro hours
Closed on October 3
The Bistro will be closed on Thursday October 3 due to the Volunteer Appreciation Day. There will be no meals or baked goods, as we will be celebrating our volunteers during the Bistro’s regular hours.

Computer Drop-In
If you’re a skilled user of computers or iPhone or Android devices, the convenors of the BHS Computer Drop-In could use your help. They’re looking for regular volunteers to help answer members’ questions about their devices and updates. Contact Brian or David at bluchak@gmail.com, or daihard@shaw.ca.
Mondays, 1 to 3 pm. Computer Room. Drop-in. No registration required.
Holiday Craft Store
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help sell the beautiful handmade products created by our talented knitters and needle crafters. Romantic Wines of the World
Starts this Thursday, Oct 3!

Explore the world’s most enchanting wines in this five-session interactive lecture, discussion, and tasting series. We will taste three or four wines each week, and learn about winemaking and the art of pairing wines with foods. Whether you're a novice or a connoisseur, this course will deepen your appreciation of wine.

Thursday, Oct 3 to 31, 2 to 3 pm. Halpern Room. $150 for members; $170 for non-members. 5 sessions. Registration required.

October 1: What makes Good Art Good? Presented by Anthony Meyers, Philosophy, UBC.

Brock House Jazz Band
Off-site for two weeks
The Jazz Band will be off-site on October 2 and 9, but will be back rehearsing at Brock House by October 16.
October 16, 1 to 3 pm. Halpern Room. Free.
Table Tennis
Drop in for a friendly game of table tennis with fellow members. For more information, email Lisa Smith at manxfam@gmail.com.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 12:30 to 3 pm. Activity Room. Free. No registration or sign-up required.
Sing-Along for fall
New Start Day
Our Sing-Along group will start on Monday October 7. There will be no Sing-Along until then. Mondays starting October 7, 1:30 to 3:50pm. Conservatory. Free.

This event is our way of expressing our heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable contributions. Spots are limited, so register as soon as possible, especially if you missed last year’s appreciation day.

We can all make sure that everyone who comes to Brock House feels included. If you notice someone who seems a bit lost or lonely, please take a moment to greet them. A small gesture can make a big difference in helping new members feel comfortable.
