Electoral Reform Referendum:  The Choices Explained

Tuesday, November 6, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
HALPERN ROOM

The Study Group on Democratic Reform is presenting its third and final session on the upcoming Referendum. This time the focus will be on answering members’ questions about the different types of voting systems presented on the ballot.  The session is offered particularly for members who had to be turned away from the Oct 1st workshop, but also for those who attended the workshop but still have questions, and for others who want more information about the options.

Once again we are fortunate to have Shoni Field, a member of the 2004 B.C. Citizens’ Assembly, who will share her considerable expertise with us.  Following a presentation on the differences among the three possible proportional systems (DMP, MMP, RUP,) Shoni will open up the floor to questions.  What else do we need to know before we vote?  What have we heard that has us wondering: is it fact or is it fiction?

Ballots will be delivered starting Oct 22nd and must be mailed in by the end of November.  Mail in your ballot after attending this event!
