AC104 Chinese Calligraphy - A Mini Workshop

Instructor: Yu Wen Weng
Explore the traditions of Chinese calligraphy and the “Four Treasures of Study.” Yu Wen will demonstrate essential techniques using a variety of brushes, inkstones, inksticks, and rice paper. Participants will have the opportunity to practice these methods and take home their own chun lian (??)—Chinese New Year banners—just in time for Lunar New Year which begins on February 17.
About the instructor: Yu Wen has been connected to Chinese calligraphy for her entire life, beginning with her upbringing in Taipei, where traditional brush writing was part of my daily schooling. Her university studies in Chinese Literature deepened this foundation through formal training in calligraphy history and technique and is eager to share with those interested.

Cancellation Policy:
Please read the Brock House Society refund policy prior to registering for activities (courses, events, tours) that have a fee.
- There is a $10 processing fee for ALL cancellations.
- To ensure that classes and events can go ahead as planned, members must cancel a class or event no later than 3 days prior to the start/event date to be eligible for refunds. No refunds are given after this deadline.
- To be eligible for a refund of tours, cancellation requests must be received 7 days prior to the tour. No refunds are given after this deadline.
- If Brock House needs to cancel a course/event/tour due to low attendance, a full refund will be provided.
