Explore and appreciate the beauty and depth of classical music through engaging pre-concert talks. Each session offers insight into works performed live in Vancouver by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Friends of Chamber Music, Early Music Vancouver, Music on Main, and other ensembles. Participants may request a specific concert or piece to be previewed. These monthly sessions are an invitation to deepen your understanding of musical masterpieces—bring a notebook and pen to capture your thoughts.
Matt Stapleton, born in southwest Western Australia in 1962, earned a Bachelor of Music and a Diploma of Education by age 24. He has since taught, performed, conducted, and composed music in schools and communities across Western Australia and England, where he met his wife, Roz, a Vancouver native. In April 2022, Matt relocated to Vancouver and is now based at UBC.
